The Cutting/Plotting Results are Unsatisfactory
Symptom
The cutting results differ from the
specified size.
When the plotter is receiving data,
the PROMPT lamp lights. (an
offscale error occurs)
Some parts of the medium cannot
be cut.
The currently selected cutting
conditions cannot be stored or
changed.
Text or lines are deformed during
pen plotting.
The specified length is not plotted
or cut. (slight distance error)
Text is deformed.
Complex images are deformed.
The starting and end points do not
match.
An unintentional L-shape is cut.
Registration mark reading failed
Symptom
The registration marks cannot be
read correctly.
(A scan error occurs.)

Cause
The programmable resolution (STEP SIZE)
has been set differently at the plotter and the
software application.
Scaling has been specified at the computer.
The computer sent coordinate data that
exceeds the specified effective cutting area.
The Condition Priority setting is set to
Program.
The [ENTER] key was not pressed after a
setting was changed.
The plotter is in Cutting or Creasing mode.
The distance correction value is not
appropriate.
The Step Pass value is too high.
The data is not connected.
The Offset Cut Pressure is too low.
The medium is too flimsy.
Cutter blade rotation is not smooth.
"2 mm BELOW" has been selected for the
Init. Blade Control position.
Cause
The registration mark lines are too fine.
The registration marks are blurred.
There is dust or dirt in the registration mark
reading range.
The medium is not flat.
The registration mark color is not black.
Chapter 6 TROUBLESHOOTING
Solution
Set both the plotter and software to the same
programmable resolution.
Check whether scaling has been specified.
Set the effective cutting area to a larger
area.
Reduce the size of the data.
Change the Condition Priority setting
(Special Functions menu) to Manual.
Make sure you are setting the conditions
correctly.
Select "PEN" for the cutter blade type in the
setting conditions.
Specify the appropriate distance correction
value.
Lower the Step Pass setting.
Plot the data with a pen and then make the
corrections required.
Raise the Offset Cut Pressure setting.
Switch to a stronger medium.
Remove any foreign matter adhering to the
inside of the holder.
Select "OUTSIDE" for the Init. Blade Control
position. (Special Functions menu)
Solution
Use a registration mark line width of between
0.5 to 1.0 mm.
Make sure that the registration marks are
clarified.
Remove any dust or dirt.
Make sure that the medium stays flat.
Perform the registration mark sensor
sensitivity adjustment procedure.
If the registration marks still cannot be read,
use black registration marks.
