8. Remove the two screws securing the motor to the optical assembly.
9. Manually rotate the motor gear to close the contrast aperture enough to be removed.
10. Remove the contrast aperture assembly.
11. To re-install, follow these steps in reverse order.

Replacing the integrator rod assembly

Complete the following procedure to replace the integrator rod assembly.
Estimated time to replace: 18 minutes
1. Remove the integrator adjustment knob (on page 73).
2. Remove the integrator rod assembly.
When removing, do not touch the glass surface.
