IV and CV Device Characterization

Configure Settings

1 Select the Settings menu in the upper left corner of the display window.
2 Select Global Settings. This displays the Global Settings dialog:

* MDM data files are an industry standard file format used by the Keysight ADS modeling program for statistical
analysis of device characterization data.

a Debug Mode: Causes the system to send a SCPI SYST:ERR? command after
each command to identify any errors in the system measurements. Use the
IO Monitor utility in the IO Libraries Suite to view the error messages.
b Output Directory: Lists the directory (folder) on the host PC to which the IV
and CV characterization data gets saved. Keysight's PD1000A Control
Software uses the EasyEXPERT format and saves the IV and CV test data
with the Keysight IC-CAP Model Data Manager
default path or folder, so you must specify the path.
-- Click Select to choose a folder on the Host PC. For example, you might
create a folder such as: PD1000AControl.
-- If you have already chosen a folder and want to see it displayed in a File
Explorer window, click Show in Explorer to display the folder contents.
You must supply this directory path when you import the
characterization data into the PEMG software. See

c To save settings and close the dialog, click the X icon in the title bar.
