Seal working lines (2 or 4) on non-assigned valve locations
(valve locations that are fitted with cover plates) with blanking
plugs or threaded blanking plugs to protect them from dirt.
Note
In order to guarantee the optimum efficiency of the valve
terminal, we recommend in the following cases that more
than one supply or exhaust line be used:
– When large volume cylinders are operated at high
speeds
– When many valves are pressurised or exhausted simul-
taneously.
To do this, equip the valve terminal VTSA... with a sufficient
number of pneumatic supply plates.
As per standard ISO 15407-2 and 5599-2, ports (12) and (14)
are intended for supplying the valve terminal with external
pilot air.
The Festo valves for the VTSA... valve terminal require a pilot
air supply exclusively via duct (14).
In the case of the reversible 2x3/2-way valves from Festo,
additional operating pressure is also required at duct (12) for
the pneumatic spring. This operating pressure must corres-
pond to the pilot pressure.
All other valves from Festo which are operated so they comply
with the ISO standard work independently of duct (12). The
pilot exhaust air is exhausted unducted directly to each valve
in this operating mode.
