To influence the force of connected actuators, a pressure
regulator plate with adjustable pressure regulating valve can
be built in between the manifold sub-base and valve.
This pressure regulator maintains an essentially constant
output pressure (secondary side) independent of supply
pressure (primary side) and air consumption.
The following descriptions of the pressure regulator functions
are provided using the example of the pressure regulator of
type VABF-S4-1..C2-C-... (VTSA pressure regulator of width
18 ... 52 mm).
P-pressure regulator (identifier R1-...-6 and R1-...-10)
The P-pressure regulator regulates the pressure in front of
the valve in duct (1) (P). This provides the same regulated
working air pressure in channels (2) and (4).
The exhaust flow in the valve is from channel (2) to channel
(3) and from channel (4) to channel (5).
The advantages of this pressure regulator are:
The pressure regulator is not affected by exhausting,
since the pressure is regulated upstream of the valve.
The pressure regulator can always be adjusted because
the pressure from the valve terminal is always present.
Application example:
An equal output pressure is required at ports (2) and (4).
A lower air pressure (e.g. 3 bar) is required than the oper-
ating pressure present at the valve terminal (e.g. 8 bar).
