Product overview
The product is a component of a CPX terminal, forms its pneumatic side, and is a
platform for execution of Motion Apps.
5.1
Function
The function range of the VTEM Motion Terminal is dependent on the scope of the
licensed Motion Apps. For many Motion Apps, the number of required licenses is
based on the desired number of valves on which the Motion App should run sim-
ultaneously. Other Motion Apps (for example, Motion App GAMM-A1 "Directional
control valve functions") are licensed standard for all valves of the Motion Termin-
al. It is therefore possible, for example, to run a different directional control valve
function on each of the maximum 8 valves of a Motion Terminal.
The parameterisation and behaviour of the Motion Apps can be defined through a
higher-order controller or the integrated WebConfig interface.
The details as well as the parameterisation of the functions and Motion Apps are
described in the Motion Terminal and Motion Apps descriptions
è 1.1 Applicable documents.
This product uses open-source software. A list of the licenses used is included in
the Function and Parameterisation description è 1.1 Applicable documents.
Upon simultaneous operation of several Motion Apps, common resources for the
entire Motion Terminal system are used. Resulting dependencies are described in
the Application Notes è 1.1 Applicable documents.
5.1.1
Vacuum operation
Certain motion apps are suitable for vacuum use. The Motion Terminal is sup-
plied with vacuum over the collected exhaust port (3). For the corresponding
Motion Apps, this is described in the Motion App description
è 1.1 Applicable documents.
5.1.2
Softstart function
Certain motion apps are equipped with a soft-start function, which prevents
unbraked advancing of a drive when cylinder chambers are exhausted. This func-
tion can cause a drive to first move in the opposite direction during system start-
up and before execution of a travel command.
For the corresponding Motion Apps, this is described in the Motion App descrip-
tion è 1.1 Applicable documents.
5.1.3
Internal and external pilot air supply
The product can be operated with internal or with external pilot air, depending on
the configuration ordered. The configuration can also be changed at a later time
è 12.2 External/internal pilot air.
For the internal pilot air supply, the pressure at port (1) must be > 3 bar.
For the external pilot air supply, the pressure at port (14) must be > 3 bar.
