4. Align the notch on the chip with the notch on
the socket. See Fig. 2-3. Note:
If
either the
chip or socket have no notch, position the
chip so that the wording on its back is in
line with the wording on memory chips
that are already installed.

the chips are not aligned correctly,
a memory failure may occur.

Install the rnerno.i:y chips one at a time, as
described below. See Fig. 2-4.
Align the pins on the chip with the holes in
the socket.
Tilt the chip slightly to insert one side before
bringing down and inserting the other side.
Press down
firmly on the center of the chip
until it is seated. Be sure all pins are
inserted before continuing.
