How To Install A Modem Option Board

This installation requires that the top cover of the
processor be removed. Remove the cover
CAREFULLY
to avoid cutting yourself on sharp
edges or damaging delicate computer parts.
If you prefer, a service representative can install
the board for a fee.
If you're adding a modem board to a system already
set up:
BE SURE the computer's power switch is
OFF.
Unplug the electrical power cord.
Disconnect all plugs from the back of the
processor.

Loosen the two screws securing the top cover of
the processor. (The screws do not have to come
all the way out.)

2. Remove the processor's top cover.
Stand facing the back of the processor.
Place your hands on the top cover. Applying
pressure with both hands, give one quick
push away from you. The processor cover
will move away from the back panel about

• Move your hands to the sides of the top cover.
Applying pressure with both hands, lift up
on the cover with a quick pull. The sides will
release.
