One versatile feature of the Xerox PC is that you
~
can use either dual floppy disk drives or a
combination of hard and floppy disk drives. Your
choice will depend upon your particular storage
needs.
The dual floppy system consists of two double-
sided floppy disk drives capable of reading and
writing standard single- or double-density 5-t inch
disks.

These disks look like flexible phonograph records,
and in fact operate much like records. When
information is stored or retrieved, the disks are
rotated at very high speeds, and a read/write head
can be positioned over any part of the rotating disk.
Because the disks are double-density, you can store
up to twice the information as you could on a single-
density disk.
Since additional floppy disks can be purchased as
needed, this system is ideally suited to the
customer who wants to store many small blocks of
data (i.e., letters, reports, etc.).
