Installing a Memory Board in Your PC
OPTIONS
These instructions apply only to the Xerox Personal
Computer.
If you are installing memory in a
Writer System, go to p. 2-21, How to Install
Memory Chips in Your Writer System.
This installation requires that both the top and
bottom covers of the processor be removed. Remove
the covers
CAREFULLY
to avoid cutting yourself on
sharp edges or damaging delicate computer parts.
If you have a hard disk system which has been
in use, you'll need to put it into shipping mode
before turning your processor over to remove the
bottom cover. See Moving, p. 6-1, for instructions
on how to put your system into shipping mode.
If you're adding memory to a system already set up:
- BE SURE the computer's power switch is OFF.
- Unplug the power cord.
Check that the power switches on your printer
and other devices are OFF.
- Disconnect all plugs from the back of the
processor.
1.
Loosen the two screws securing the top cover of
the processor. (The screws do not have to come
all the way out.)
