Getting Started
Xerox has provided an easy-to-use tutorial disk
which will instruct you on how to use your system.
If you have purchased Xerox Writer software,
locate the Writer Training manual and follow its
instructions to learn how to use your system.
If you did not :purchase Xerox Writer software,
locate the Getting Started booklet in the box
marked
"Software
Disks"
and
follow
the
instructions there.
Should you have questions about your system's
components in the future, you can refer to this
manual.
Instructions for installing software are provided in
Appendix A of the MS-DOS with ScreenMate
Operator's Guide. There you will be instructed on
how to copy the MS-DOS Operating System to
another floppy disk or the hard disk of a hard disk
system. (If you decide not to use ScreenMate, use
the instructions in Appendix A of the MS-DOS
Operator's Guide.)
Floppy Disk Tips
INSTALLATION
Improper handling can damage your floppy disk.
Be sure to follow the tips below.
- Never write on disks with anything but a felt
tip pen.
- Never bend disks.
• Never expose disks to magnets or heat.
- Never clean a disk with cleaning fluid.
- Never touch the exposed surface of a disk.
- Always store disks in their protective jackets.
