To use the 630
w/
SPI (with Serial Printer
Interface) Printer:
. Plug an RS-232 cable with a modem
eliminator into the connector marked
"Serial" on the back of the processor. You
can order RS-232 cables either from your
local Xerox/Diablo sales representative or
directly from Diablo. The modem eliminator
(also called a "null modem" or "direct connect
cable") is a common computer part which can
be found at most computer stores, or ordered
directly from Xerox.
. Check to be sure the operating mode
switches are set exactly as illustrated on the
next page.
The operating mode switches for the 630 w/
SPI printer are located behind the external
control panel, and are covered when the front
cover is in place.
