3: Connecting Monitors to the DCD
Connecting the Monitor Cables to the DCD (Silicon Graphics Fuel
Workstation)

Follow the instructions in this section to connect the monitors to the DCD on a Silicon
Graphics Fuel workstation. For a Single Head Octane system, see "Connecting the
Monitor Cables to the DCD (Single Head Octane System)" on page 92. For a Dual Head
Octane system, refer to "Connecting the Monitor Cables to the DCD (Dual Head Octane
System)" on page 94.
1.
Connect the left monitor's DVI/VGA cable to the left video connector (channel 0)
on the DCD, as shown in Figure 3-5.
Channel 0 drives the left monitor with the image from the top of the frame buffer.
2. Connect the right monitor's DVI/VGA cable to the right connector (channel 1) on
the DCD, as shown in Figure 3-5.
Channel 1 drives the right monitor with the image from the bottom of the frame
buffer.
3. Tighten the thumbscrews on both sides of each video connector.
Caution: To ensure proper cursor movement, make sure you connect the monitor
!
cables to the correct video connectors on the rear of your workstation.
