Determining Your IRIX Version

If your Octane or Octane2 workstation has IRIX 6.5.14, you must also have a software
patch installed before you can install the DCD.
To determine the version of the IRIX operating system installed on your Octane or
Octane2 system, follow the instructions in this section.
From an IRIX command prompt, type:
1% uname -R
You will see output similar to the following:
6.5 6.5.13f
If your system is running IRIX version 6.5.14, you need patch 4426 before you install the
DCD. To determine if you have patch 4426 installed, type the following at an IRIX
command prompt:
2% versions patchSG0004426
If the output of this command shows nothing under the headings "Name," "Date," and
"Description," you do not have patch 4426 installed. You must install this patch (or you
must upgrade your system to IRIX 6.5.15 or later, when released) before installing the
DCD.
If the output of this command includes items below the Name-Date-Description
headings, you do have patch 4426 installed.
