Symptom
Dual Channel Display does not appear in
hinv.
Same image appears on both monitors.
Monitors are blank.
In single channel modes, one monitor
displays the image correctly, but the other
monitor's image is bad.
The images on both monitors alternate
between the correct image and noise, a
constant color, or a badly flickering image.
In dual channel mode, two superimposed
flickering images appear on a monitor
connected to the original graphics board
monitor port.
If neither of your monitors has an image, follow the steps in the apropriate section below.
Possible Cause
Either the board is installed incorrectly, or it is
defective. If the board is installed in an Octane2,
repeat the installation steps again, and make sure
you insert the board correctly. If reseating the board
does not solve the problem, the board may be
defective. If these steps do not help, or if the board is
installed in a Silicon Graphics Fuel workstation, call
your SGI service representative.
Timing mode is set to single channel. See Chapter 3.
Connect a monitor to the original monitor port and
run hinv, as described in "If Both Monitors are
Blank" on page 114.
The board is probably defective. Contact your SGI
service representative.

service representative.
Currently, the original graphics board monitor port
is not disabled when the board is running in dual
channel mode. If you connect a monitor to the
original graphics board monitor port in dual
channel mode, the monitor displays alternating
images from the left and right channels.
