Check Thermal
i-STAT analyzers contain a thermal control subsystem consisting of two thermal

performed at a controlled temperature, the thermal probes in the analyzer contact
the metalized area under the chips in the cartridge and maintain the temperature
of the sensors and the fluids that come into contact with these sensors at the
required temperature ± 0.15°C.
A quality check is performed on the thermal probes each time the external
Electronic Simulator is used. To complete this check, the surface temperature of
the external Electronic Simulator must not fluctuate. If this condition is not met,
the thermal probe check is not completed. Therefore, i-STAT recommends that the
thermal probe check be verified every six months.
