6. Lift up on the plastic retaining clips to disengage them from the top of the hard
drive assembly.
7. Push the plastic panel toward the rear of the main module, and remove the
plastic panel from the main module.
8. Push the top edge of the drive backplane slightly toward the rear of the main
module, then lift the drive backplane up and remove it from the main module.

Install the Drive Backplane

Caution - This procedure requires that you handle components that are sensitive to electrostatic
discharge. This discharge can cause failure of server components.
1. Take the necessary ESD precautions.

2. Position the drive backplane in the main module.
3. Lower the drive backplane into place.
