FC 300 Design Guide
Digital input 33
Function:
Select the input to which the thermistor (PTC sen-
sor) should be connected. An analog input option
[1] or [2] cannot be selected if the analog input is
already in use as a reference source (selected in
par. 3-15 Reference Source 1, 3-16 Reference
Source 2 or 3-17 Reference Source 3).
This parameter cannot be adjusted while the mo-
tor is running.
KTY Sensor Connection
FC 302 only)
KTY sensors are used especially in Permanent
Magnet Servo Motors (PM motors) for dynamic
adjusting of motor parameters as stator resist-
ance (par. 1-30) for PM motors and also rotor
resistance (par. 1-31) for asynchronous motors,
depending on winding temperature. The calcula-
tion is:

KTY sensors can be used for motor protecting (par
1-97).
FC 302 can handle three types of KTY sensors,
defined in par 1-95. The actual sensor tempera-
ture can be red out from par 16-19.
NB!
If the temperature of the motor is uti-
lized through a thermistor or KTY sen-
sor the PELV is not complied with in
case of short circuits between motor
windings and sensor. In order to com-
ply with PELV the sensor must be extra
isolated.
