FC 300 Design Guide
1.
Run an AMA on a cold motor. The fre-
quency converter will measure the value
from the motor.
2.
Enter the X
value manually. Obtain the
1
value from the motor supplier.
3.
Use the X
default setting. The frequency
1
converter establishes the setting on the
basis of the motor name plate data.

Rotor Leakage Reactance (X2)
Value:
Ohm
Function:
Set the rotor leakage reactance of the motor using
one of these methods:
1.
Run an AMA on a cold motor. The fre-
quency converter will measure the value
from the motor.
2.
Enter the X
value manually. Obtain the
2
value from the motor supplier.
3.
Use the X
default setting. The frequency
2
converter establishes the setting on the
basis of the motor name plate data.
1-35
Main Reactance (Xh)
Value:
Ohm
Function:
Set the main reactance of the motor using one of
these methods:
1.
Run an AMA on a cold motor. The fre-
quency converter will measure the value
from the motor.
2.
Enter the X
value manually. Obtain the
h
value from the motor supplier.
3.
Use the X
default setting. The frequency
h
converter establishes the setting on the
basis of the motor name plate data.

Function:
Enter the equivalent iron loss resistance (R
ue to compensate for iron losses in the motor.
The R
value cannot be found by performing an
Fe
AMA.
The R
value is especially important in torque
Fe
control applications. If R

d-axis Inductance (Ld)
Value:
0.0 - 1000.0 mH
Function:
Enter the value of the d-axis inductance. Obtain
the value from the permanent magnet motor data
sheet.
This parameter is only active when par. 1-10 Mo-
tor Design has the value PM, non-salient SPM [1]
(Permanent Magnet Motor).
This parameter is available for FC 302 only.

Motor Poles
Value:
Depends on motor type
Value 2 - 100 poles
Function:
Enter the number of motor poles.

The table shows the number of poles for normal
speed ranges of various motor types. Define mo-
tors designed for other frequencies separately.
The motor pole value is always an even number,
because it refers to the total number of poles, not
pairs of poles. The frequency converter creates
the initial setting of par. 1-39 based on par.
