Ranger Gateway
Joining Ranger Gateways
The Configuration > Ranger Gateway Configuration page is used to configure
communications between ZoneRangers and Ranger Gateways. This configuration is used to
join and unjoin ZoneRangers and Ranger Gateways, to configure SSL trust between
ZoneRanger and Ranger Gateways, and to restrict the addresses to which the ZoneRanger can
initiate connections.
Figure 34-49. Configuration > Ranger Gateway page
The Ranger Gateway section is used to specify the Ranger Gateways to which to join and the
status of the currently joined Ranger Gateways. When the page is saved, the ZoneRanger will
attempt to join any new Ranger Gateways listed in this section with the specified passcode.
When joining to a Ranger Gateway from a ZoneRanger, the ZoneRanger passcode must be
configured to match the Ranger Gateway passcode for the request to succeed.
If the join succeeds, the ZoneRanger passcode can be changed to a different value (for example,
to join with another Ranger Gateway having a different passcode) without affecting the join
status of Ranger Gateways that were joined previously.
If the join fails, the Not Joined message will appear in the State column. The View > System
Log may provide additional information about why the join attempt was unsuccessful.
Configuring Ranger Gateway restrictions
The ZoneRanger may be configured to restrict the list of Ranger Gateway addresses to which it
can attempt to join. The Configuration > Ranger Gateway page Restrictions tab may be used
to list these addresses.
