• A worn or damaged key

• Loose joints from the steering column to the steering gear
• An incorrectly aligned steering column
• An unlubricated horn contact ring
• A lack of grease on the bearings
• Loose sight shields

• An unseated lock plate retainer ring
• An unlubricated spherical joint
