Appendix F MP2100M Slave CPU Synchronization Function
F.2.4 Procedure for Executing the MP2100M Slave CPU Synchronization Function
F.2.4 Procedure for Executing the MP2100M Slave CPU Synchronization Function
Since slave CPU synchronization processing will be executed automatically after communication between the
master device and MP2100M has been established provided the execution conditions described in F.2.2 Slave
CPU Synchronization Function Execution Conditions have been satisfied, there is no need for the user to explic-
itly issue a command for starting. It is also possible to control starting of slave CPU synchronization processing
explicitly by using the control bit SLVSC at the slave device.
Slave CPU synchronization processing is subject a precaution on turning the power on.
As described in F.4.1 Precautions on Use, during transition from the asynchronous status to the synchronous sta-
tus brought about by the slave CPU synchronization function, the scan cycle (high speed or low speed) at the
slave devices may be extended by up to the duration of one scan cycle, and this can affect the application at the
slave devices.
The execution procedure for avoiding these effects is described here for both the situation "when the power to the
master device is turned on first" and the situation "when the power to the slave devices is turned on first".
Normally you are recommended to use the execution procedure "when the power to the master device is turned
on first" because it is simpler.
(1) When the Power to the Master Device is Turned On First
Confirm that the master device has completed startup, then turn on the power to the slave devices.
To judge startup completion with the application, use system register SB000401 "RUN".
