6.2.3 Battery Replacement

This section explains how to replace the battery.
(1) Preparations
(a) Saving the Memory Contents
Before replacing the battery, save the programs and data from the memory of the MP2100/MP2100M to
floppy disks or a hard disk. The saved programs and data will be used if the programs and data are acciden-
tally deleted during battery replacement. For the saved contents, refer to the Machine Controller MP900/
MP2000 Series MPE720 Software for Programming Device User's Manual (Manual No.: SIEP C880700 05).
(b) Preparing a New Battery
Prepare a New battery (JZSP-BA01). This battery is not commercially available, and must be ordered from
your nearest Yaskawa sales representative. The appearance of the battery is illustrated below.
(2) Procedure
Use the following procedure to replace the battery.
1. Make sure that the S1 LED indicator on the MP2100/MP2100M is lit (green).
2. Disconnect the battery cable from the connector on the MP2100.
3. Firmly connect the replacement battery cable to the connector on the MP2100.
4. Make sure that the BAT LED indicator on the MP2100/MP2100M is not lit.
This completes the battery replacement procedure.
Be sure to replace the battery with the power supply to the MP2100/MP2100M turned ON.
IMPORTANT
Replacing the battery with the power supply to the MP2100/MP2100M turned OFF will result in the data
stored in the MP2100/MP2100M being lost.
