Two types of video service are supported on this ONT:
•
RF video overlay
•
When multicast technology is used to deliver video content through the data
channel, the ONT supports a dedicated multicast downstream GEM port.
The HSI data service on these ONTs is delivered by up to four 10/100/1000 Base-T
Ethernet ports that support:
•
auto-negotiation and MDI/MDIX auto-sensing
•
built-in layer 2 switch
•
advanced data features such as VLAN tag manipulation, classification, and
filtering
•
built-in layer 3 routing and residential gateway
The G-241W-P and I-241W-T ONT also supports two USB host interfaces
compliant to USB 2.0.

Wi-Fi service

G-241W-P and I-241W-T indoor ONTs feature Wi-Fi service as well as voice, video,
and data services. Wi-Fi is a wireless networking technology that uses radio waves
to provide wireless HSI and network connections. This ONT complies with the IEEE
802.11 standards, which the Wi-Fi Alliance defines as the basis for Wi-Fi
technology.
Wi-Fi standards and certifications
The Wi-Fi service on G-241W-P and I-241W-T indoor ONTs supports the following
IEEE standards and Wi-Fi Alliance certifications:
•
compliant with IEEE 802.11 standards
•
certified for IEEE 802.11 b/g/n standards
•
WPA support including WPA-PSK

Residential gateway functions

As a residential gateway, G-241W-P and I-241W-T indoor ONTs feature layer 2 and
3 processing capabilities and support the following home router functions:
•
PPPoE, static, or DHCP for WAN interface
•
NAPT and firewall
•
DHCP/DNS service (client and server)
•
port-forwarding, ALG, and UPnP
•
routing
