B-2404-P special considerations

Do not submerge the B-2404-P business ONT. The device cannot withstand water
submersion caused by flooding. Equipment damage will occur.
The B-2404-P business ONT E1 interface supports standard 120 Ω termination via
an RJ-48C. Customers that require a 75 Ω termination need an external adapter.
Line loopbacks are not supported.
The B-2404-P business ONT does not support VLAN translation and VLAN
pass-through traffic that uses the same p-bit across the same UNI or downstream
p-bit translation when services are configured in VLAN pass-through mode.
The B-2404-P business ONT does not support structured mode.

When in channel package mode, ONT only supports group aging time less than 80 seconds
ONT only supports 77.676 MHz common clock
No support for asymmetrical traffic class provisioning when enabling pbit translations and a different
pbit is carried in different a GEM port. In the downstream direction, traffic with a particular pbit is
allowed only when it's used as network side pbit in upstream. If multiple pbits are carried in the
same GEM port, they can always pass through in the downstream direction.
The ONT always identifies the VLAN tag by TPID 0x8100 and do not support TPID rewriting
In case of VLAN translation, double-tagged packets cannot pass through the ONT. The ONT can only
pass double-passed packets without modification. Triple-tagged packets and S-tunnel mode are not
supported.
ONT can only support the following two different VLAN actions:
•
IP (including IP in PPPoE) untagged packets
•
non-IP (for example, ARP)
No support for flexible VLAN operations-based on the EtherType.
No support for IEEE 802 LLC/SNAP frame format
When in asymmetrical flow control mode, the ONT will not generate PAUSE frames for the client if
there is traffic congestion
Support for enabling/disabling ONTSIG (channel package) by setting the ME for the first UNI
ONT requires a reboot to switch from channel package mode to ONT snooping mode (but not from
snooping to channel package mode)
Support for ONT IGMP snooping function processing of IGMPv3 but ignores source IP address. The ONT
ignores source IP address in IGMPv3 records and multicast ACL.
The ONT filters multicast streams by MAC destination address instead of group IP
IGMP packet burst containing more than 32 packets cannot be processed
Downstream over-subscription may cause upstream packet loss
