ONT SoC technology serves as the main hardware block for the I-011G-P ONTs; see

Figure 21-4.

ONT SoC technology consists of five key elements:

The GPON MAC element on the SoC provides the GPON interface to the TC

layer via the triplexer (for RF video). This interface supports the FSAN standards

compliant GEM mode transport and provides AES, FEC, and data fragmentation

functionality over the GPON as described in G.984.3 (GPON TC Layer) ITU

specification.

Ethernet MAC

The SoC provides an Ethernet PHY device (either 10/100BaseT or

10/100/1000BaseT) between the GMII interface and the RJ-45 port.
