Manual Alignment Adjustment

This section describes manual adjustment of the printout image position.
Note
You can adjust the alignment of the images to print on the paper (perpendicularity (rhombic
distortion), skew, scale, and image position), and save 80 types of adjusted values. You can
assign a set type to each tray.
Adjust the position of an output image when it is misaligned as a result of conditions such
as paper expansion or contraction, cutting accuracy, or paper storage.
Adjust the position of the output images with the alignment adjustment settings.
Note
Manual Alignment Adjustment
You can adjust the position of output images on the machine as follows:

adjustment
Image before
adjustment
 Skew Adjustment
Adjust a skewed image.
 Perpendicularity (Rhombic Distortion) Adjustment
Adjust the distortion of an image.
 Scale Adjustment
Adjust the size (scale) of the output image in the paper feed direction (X direction) and in
the vertical direction in relation to the paper feed direction (Y direction).
 Print Position Adjustment
Adjust the position of the image in the paper feed direction (X direction) and in the vertical
direction in relation to the paper feed direction (Y direction). Adjust this, for example, when
the images on sides 1 and 2 are not in the expected position.
When adjusting multiple types of misalignments, adjust them in the following order:
Perpendicularity Adjustment > Skew Adjustment > Scale Adjustment > Print Position
Adjustment
• Output paper for the alignment adjustment is counted for the number of printed pages. For more
information, refer to "Billing Information" (P.106).
• When using a smart card authentication system such as IC Card Gate, you may be requested
authentication before printing or scanning a calibration chart.
