Terms in Address
Name
An easily identifiable name to represent the IP address or addresses.
Address type
Used to designate the IP range and IPv6 address / prefix length or IP /
netmask IP.
IP Version
IPv4 or IPv6 can be selected.
IP Address
Represents a host or subnet; and can be categorized into three kinds, i.e. LAN IP
address, WAN IP address and DMZ IP address.
Netmask
Enter 255.255.255.255 to represent the single IPv4 address that you entered in IP
Address.
As an example, to represent the subnet from a class C IPv4 address such as
192.168.100.1, enter 255.255.255.0 into the Netmask field.
Prefix Length
Enter 128 to represent a single IPv6 address.
To represent an IPv6 subnet (for example
21DA:D3:0:2F3B:2AA:FF:FE28:9C5A with a prefix of 1DA:D3:0:2F3B) then
Prefix length should be set to 64.
MAC Address
Specifying a MAC address for the specified host helps to prevent unauthorized
access.
Interface
Specifys the interface that the IP address or addresses belongs to.
