Note:
1. When hardware authentication and user/group authentication are both enabled, the device will
first try to authenticate by hardware authentication and will perform the following:
 If the user's PC hardware information is under Web VPN / SSL VPN > Settings, then the
user is permitted to establish a Web VPN connection.
 If the user's PC hardware information is not under Web VPN / SSL VPN > Settings, then
the user needs to be authenticated by username and password to establish a Web VPN
connection.
 The user needs to be authenticated by username and password for the first time to
establish a Web VPN connection.
2. When only hardware authentication is enabled the device will perform the following:
 If the user's hardware information is added under Web VPN / SSL VPN > Settings, the
user will be able to establish a SSL VPN connection.
 If the user's hardware information is not added under Web VPN / SSL VPN > Settings,
then the user will not be able to establish a SSL VPN connection.
3. If hardware authentication is disabled, then the user will need to authenticate using a username
/ password to establish a Web VPN connection.
 The device will authenticate the user's authentication name and password, then decide
whether to establish a SSL VPN connection or not.
4. If the client user's PC does not have SUN JAVA Runtime Environment software installed then
it will automatically be downloaded and installed during the SSL VPN connection login phase.
