Power-down cycle

Phaser 380 Color Printer
Power down is executed after the power supply switch is turned off. Its purpose
is to place engine subsystems in a safe non-operating configuration. After
execution, the printer can be stored or the head restraint can be engaged and the
printer can be transported.
1.
Turn off all heaters (ink loader, printhead, cap/wipe/purge unit,
drum and preheater).
2.
Turn both fans on full.
3.
If imaging, stop scanning (jet firing, printhead motion and y-axis
motion). Set NVRAM to indicate that an image is left on drum.
4.
If transfixing, stop paper transportation, stop the drum and unload
the transfix roller. Set NVRAM to indicate an image is left on drum.
5.
If performing drum maintenance, stop the drum and home the drum
maintenance system.
6.
If the print engine was performing head maintenance, stop jet firing,
pump, and cap motion. Tilt the head to its standby position. Return
the cap/wipe/purge unit to its home position. Release the
accumulator's built-up vacuum.
7.
If ink is loading (dripping) into the printhead reservoirs, leave the
printhead under the ink loader. Set NVRAM to indicate that ink was
dripping. Display the message to the front panel "Head restraint
disabled, do not transport." Maintain this message until power
supply shut downs. The duration of the message should be
approximately 2 to 3 seconds and within the 4 second shut down time
limit.
8.
If ink was not being melted into the printhead:
a. Home x-axis
b. Tilt the printhead to the standby position.
c. Move the x-axis left to engage the left head restraint pin.
d. Tilt the printhead slightly to its restraint offset position.
9.
Initiate software-controlled power supply shut down.
