1.
Turn off the printer and remove the power cord.
2.
Remove the left-side cover as explained in the earlier topic, "Cabinet
panels and covers" on page 8-4.
3.
Open the front panel and remove the maintenance tray.
4.
At the left side of the printer, disconnect the two wiring harness
leading from the media width sensor to I/O board 1. Unlock the
ribbon-style wiring harness connector, by pulling on the connector's
ears to release the tension on the wiring harness. Note for reassembly
that the ribbon cables contacts face out towards the I/O board 1.
5.
Remove the one screw and bushing on the left side of the printer
frame securing the media width sensor assembly in place. From the
front, remove the two screws securing the media width sensor
assembly in place. Remove the assembly.

Reverse these steps to reinstall the media width sensor assembly. Perform the
procedure "Adjusting the image position (margins)" on page 9-26.
