Rotate the printhead restraint assembly's shaft to align the pin on the
left end of the shaft with the slot in the printer frame. Slide the shaft to
the right to free the left end and then right and up to remove the shaft.

Reverse these steps to install the printhead restraint assembly.
Printhead restraint adjustment. To ensure the restraint properly engages the
printhead, perform the procedure as described in the topic "Printhead transit
restraint adjustment" on page 9-22. Note the two slotted screw holes on the
restraint pin guide. By sliding the restraint pin guide forward or backward
slightly, you adjust the height of the transit restraint pin into the printhead's
receiver.
Also check the operation of the printhead restraint opto-sensor when the
restraint is in its released position. It may be necessary to bend sheetmetal to
ensure the sensor functions after the printhead restraint assembly is reinstalled.
