Figure 8-21 Removing the process motor

Tools required
Magnetic screwdriver
1.
Turn off the printer and remove the power cord.
2.
Open the front door and remove the drum maintenance cartridge.
3.
Remove the front panel, right-side and left-side covers as explained in
the earlier topic, "Cabinet panels and covers" on page 8-4.
4.
Remove the Y-axis belt drive assembly as explained in the previous
procedure, "Y-axis belt drive assembly" on page 8-16.
5.
Remove the paper preheater as explained in the previous procedure,
"Paper preheater" on page 8-21.
6.
Disconnect the motor's wiring harnesses from the power control
board. The process motor connects to J14 and J17. Remove the ferrite
coil from the wiring harness of the motor. Unclip the cable ties
retaining the motor's wiring harness.
7.
Remove the four screws securing the motor to the drum/transfix
assembly. Remove the motor by carefully lowering it out the front of
the printer.

Reverse these steps to install the process motor.
