Y-axis belt drive assembly

1.
Turn off the printer and remove the power cord.
2. Remove the right-side panel as explained in the earlier topic, "Cabinet
panels and covers" on page 8-4.
3. Remove the right-side panel support. It is held in place by five screws.

Remove the drum heater (with the drum fan attached) which is held
in place with three screws to the printer frame.
5. Remove the ring gear attached to the end of the drum. The ring gear
is held in place with four screws. For reassembly, ensure you place the
ring gear on the drum pulley in the same position. A mark on the ring rear
should line up with a mark on the drum pulley.
Note Shim washers on pre-production units. Shim washers may be
used to achieve optimum belt alignment. Be careful not to let them
drop loose when you remove the drive assembly. Also ensure for
reassembly that the shim washers are installed in their original
positions.
6.
Remove the four tension set screws securing the Y-axis belt drive
assembly to the engine frame. There may be shims of different
thickness located under the mounting screws. Ensure they are
reinstalled in the same locations (unless a newer replacement Y-axis
drive assembly features bosses in place of the shims).
7. Remove the assembly with its two belts.
