Skip adjustments corrects the horizontal interleaving of the left-half of the
printed image with the right half of the printed image.

Figure 9-17 Concept of skip adjustment

Jets from one end of the printhead, producing one image half, interlace with jets
from the other end of the printhead to produce the seam or stitch where the two
image halves join. The skip adjustment ensures the jets interlace correctly.
Perform the scale and skip adjustments after replacing the X-axis drive unit, the
printhead, or the power control board.
Note
Because both scale and skip are interrelated horizontal movements of
the x-axis mechanism, the scale factor adjustments should be
performed first and always followed by the skip adjustment.
