If your server has a factory-installed operating system, configure it using the
instructions in the following section. Otherwise, follow the instructions in the
"Operating System Purchased Separately" section later in this chapter.
NOTE: In this chapter, configuring the server means creating partitions on the hard drive,
installing Compaq utilities, and installing the operating system.
Compaq ROM Based Setup Utility
The Compaq ROM based Setup Utility (RBSU) will automatically configure
the system based on the operating system selected. RBSU supports a wide
range of configuration customization features, including the following:
Selection of a primary operating system from a list of supported
operating systems
Selection of a Primary Boot Controller from a list of Mass Storage
Devices installed.
Configuration of embedded system devices such as serial, printer, and
mouse ports
Configuration of standard interrupts (IRQs) for PCI devices
Setting of the date and time
Configuration of the IMD and system asset text
