Troubleshooting Interlock Connections in the
I/O Area
1. Open the access doors in the top access panel and check the System
Interlock LED.
2. Place the server in Standby and disconnect all power cords from the
power supplies or wall receptacles.
3. Remove the top access panel.
4. Make sure the power switch cable is not damaged.
5. Make sure the power switch cable is properly connected to the I/O
board.
6. Replace the top access panel and reconnect all power cords.
7. Power on the server and check the LEDs or the symptom again.
8. If the problem is not resolved, contact Compaq or your service provider.
Troubleshooting Interlock Connection in the
Processor Area
If any of the Processor Board Interlock LEDs (as shown in Table 3-3) are lit,
use these steps to troubleshoot interlock connection problems.
1. Place the server in Standby mode and disconnect all power cords from
the power supplies or wall receptacles.
2. Remove the top and left access panels.
3. Reseat all processors and processor terminator boards.
4. Reseat the memory expansion board.
5. Reinstall the memory expansion board retention bracket.
6. Verify that the air sensor/interlock cable is not damaged and is properly
installed on the processor board.
7. Verify that the 3V and 5V/12V power cables are not damaged and are
properly connected to the processor board and power backplane.
8. Verify that the processor board and I/O board are properly mated (there
should be no gold fingers visible near the top of the processor board).
9. Verify that both processor buses have all slots filled with either a
processor or processor terminator board.
