External Cabling

This server does not contain integrated SCSI ports. PCI SCSI controller boards
or array controllers must be used for connecting to optional external mass
storage devices. You can connect the server to external devices using the
external ports on PCI SCSI controller boards or Dual-Channel Ultra2
Controllers. Smart Array 4200 Array Controllers, Smart Array 3200
Controllers, or other SCSI array controllers may also be used to connect the
server to external devices by using the external port on the controller. Fibre
Channel devices are connected directly from the controller to the Fibre
Channel device.
To install an external storage device, refer to the installation documentation
that came with the device. The following procedure provides an overview of
this installation.
