ProLiant ML750 Server Cabling Scenarios

IMPORTANT: To preserve data integrity, Compaq recommends the use of Compaq SCSI
cables. If the cables are ever damaged, replace them with identical Compaq parts. SCSI
data transfers will operate poorly or not at all when signal conditions are degraded due to
low-quality cables.
The following illustrations are provided only as an overview for installing and
routing some of the cabling scenarios described in the cabling matrix earlier in
the chapter. If you have any questions, contact your local Compaq authorized
reseller or service provider.
NOTE: Part numbers are stamped on all cables.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury, disconnect all power cords
and unplug any telecommunications cables before removing any access panels.
Disconnect the power cord to avoid exposure to hazardous energy levels

that may cause burns when parts are short-circuited by metal objects such
as tools or jewelry.
Disconnect telephone cables to avoid exposure to shock hazard from

telephone ringing voltages.
CAUTION: Never operate the server with an access panel removed or partially
installed. Doing so could cause thermal damage to the hard drives or system
and could void your server warranty.
