When installing new processors, it is important to follow these guidelines:
All processors must be Intel Pentium III Xeon processors. The
ProLiant ML750 server does not support Pentium II Xeon processors.
Processors must be installed starting from the slot closest to the rear of
the server (Slot 1).
Each pair of processor slots must contain processors of the same cache
size (processor slot pairs are: Slots 1 and 2, Slots 3 and 4, Slots 5 and 6,
Slots 7 and 8). If there is no match for a processor, the second slot in the
pair must be filled with a processor terminator board.
The processor pair with the lowest cache size should be installed closest
to the rear of the server. If a second pair of processors has a larger cache
size, it should be installed in the next pair of slots.
CAUTION: The server will not boot if the Intel Pentium III Xeon processors are
not the same speed.
