1. Unlock and open the left PCI Hot Plug access door.

2. Use the PCI Hot Plug button or software application to turn power off to
the slot. The green LED will flash during the power down transition and
will turn off when power down is complete. For details on PCI Hot Plug
LEDs, see the "PCI Hot Plug LEDs" section earlier in this chapter.
CAUTION: DO NOT open the slot release lever unless the slot's green PCI
Hot Plug LED is off. System power down and subsequent data loss could occur.
3. When the slot's green LED is off, open the slot release lever.
