The following sections provide overviews for installing hard drives, tape
drives, and external storage devices.
The ProLiant ML750 server supports three internal hard-drive cages. Each
ProLiant ML750 Ultra3 SCSI internal drive cage supports up to seven 1-inch
Ultra3 SCSI hard drives (SCSI IDs 0-5 and 8) for a total of 21 hard drives.
The server ships with the top removable media drive bay occupied by a
slimline 3.5-inch diskette/IDE CD-ROM drive combination. The bottom two
half-height 5.25-inch removable media drive bays are vacant for future
installation of mass storage devices.
The following illustration shows three 1-inch internal drive cages, each with
seven 1-inch hard drives (0-5 and 8) installed. The removable media area has
two available bays (0-1), and a combination CD-ROM and diskette drive (2).

CAUTION: If a hard drive is removed, a blanking panel must be added for static
immunity and airflow improvement.
