5. Verify switch settings for processor board switches and the system
configuration switch, and SCSI ID settings for DAT or DLT drives
or other SCSI media devices, if installed.
Refer to the Compaq ProLiant ML750 Server Hardware Installation and
Configuration poster included in the shipping box or to the access panel
labels on the inside of the side and top access panels of the server.
Information may also be found in Appendix H, "Processor Board and
I/O Board," or in your option documentation.
6. Connect the cables for the keyboard, mouse, monitor, network,
storage, and power. See the "Cabling the Server" section later in this
chapter.
NOTE: For server with factory–installed operating systems skip steps 7 and 8.
7. Turn on the server and insert the SmartStart and Support Software
CD to configure the server. To load the CD, see Chapter 6,
"Configuring the Server." For the SmartStart and Support Software CD
installation procedures, refer to the Server Setup and Management pack
shipped with your server.
8. Install Compaq Insight Manager to manage the server. For the
Compaq Management CD installation procedures, refer to the Server
Setup and Management pack shipped with your server.
When installing your ProLiant ML750 server in a rack, certain space and
power requirements and temperature standards must be met.
