4.2.9.3 Exiting the Substitute Value Strategy through Acknowledgement

To exit the substitute value strategy, the fault must be eliminated, and the SPL_EN bit
must be changed from 0 to 1. The acknowledgement must be performed separately for
each channel. After acknowledgement, the channel is in normal operation.
Exiting the substitute value strategy may lead to unintended jumps in the actual value.
This is due to a difference between the setpoint as currently parameterized and the sub-
stitute value. To avoid the problem, please proceed as follows:
1. Evaluate the error situation, e.g., using the corresponding diagnostic information from
the fieldbus coupler/controller.
2. Read out the actual value.
3. Set the setpoint to the actual value that was read out.
4. Output the positive edge of the SPL_EN bit.

4.2.10 Teach-in of Current Controllers

The I/O module is supplied with preset PID current controllers. For better adaptation to
the coil characteristics, automatic teach-in can be performed on the current controllers for
the controlled system. The teach-in function optimizes the current controllers for initial
commissioning, or if a valve with different coil values is to be used.
To achieve optimal teach-in results, the teach-in process is always performed channel by
8 Parameter Ta-
channel. The PID parameters of the current controllers are stored in
bles 168 and 169
[} 42].
