Hard disk drive (HDD) / solid state disk (SSD)

Basic information

The HDD or SSD and the installation frame together make up the HDD module
or SSD module.
The server is shipped with one of the following HDD or SSD subsystems:
– 3.5-inch HDD subsystem
– 2.5-inch HDD/SSD subsystem
3.5-inch HDD subsystem
Up to 10 3.5-inch SAS/SATA HDD modules or up to 12 3.5-inch SAS/SATA
HDD/SSD modules can be installed depending on configuration.
The HDD/SSD module is connected to the HDD backplane wirelessly. This
allows HDD/SSD modules to be plugged in or pulled out easily.
Hybrid configurations of SAS/SATA HDD/SSD modules are supported in
combination with an optional HDD controller.

2.5-inch HDD/SSD subsystem
– Up to 16 2.5-inch SAS/SATA HDD/SSD modules can be installed depending
on configuration.
The HDD/SSD modules are connected to the HDD backplane wirelessly.
This allows HDD/SSD modules to be plugged in or pulled out easily.
If the HDD/SSD modules are controlled by a RAID controller, defective
HDD/SSD modules can also be replaced during operation.
– Up to 24 2.5-inch HDD/SSD/PCIe SSD modules can be installed depending
on configuration.
The HDD / SSD / PCIe SSD modules are connected to the HDD backplane
wirelessly. This allows HDD/SSD/PCIe SSD modules to be plugged in or
pulled out easily.
If the HDD/SSD/PCIe SSD modules are controlled by a RAID controller,
defective HDD/SSD/PCIe SSD modules can be replaced during operation.
