2.15.3 FDA drive control

The FDA drive is controlled with switch 3 (figures 2.15.1 and 2.15.2). The indication of
the FDA drive operation is performed by annunciator 2.
The switch 3 has three fixed positions:
"FDA off" – middle position;
"FDA automatic control" – upper position;
"FDA positive activation" – lower position.
The mode "FDA off" is used when moving on roads with hard surface when the travel-
ing speed is above 13 km/h in order to avoid increased wear of front wheel tires.
In the position "FDA automatic control" the FDA drive is automatically engaged when
the rear wheel skidding limit is exceeded during straight movement. The FDA drive is disen-
gaged automatically as the rear wheel skidding drops below the permissible limit or when
guide wheels turn for the angle of more than 25 degrees to either side.
Annunciator 2 is on, when the FDA drive is engaged, and it goes out when the FDA
drive is disengaged.
The mode "FDA automatic control" shall be used for performing various types of field
work.
ATTENTION: IN THE MODE "FDA AUTOMATIC CONTROL" AT REAR WHEELS SKIDDING,
AVOID FRONT WHEELS TURNS AT TURN ANGLES CLOSE TO 25°, AS IN THIS CASE FDA AUTO-
MATIC ENGAGEMENT AND DISENGAGEMENT WILL CONSTANTLY TAKE PLACE, WHICH MAY
CREATE SUDDEN DYNAMIC LOAD IN TRANSMISSION AND FDA DRIVE!
The mode "FDA automatic control" is disengaged by setting switch 3 into the position
"FDA off". In this case annunciator 2 goes out.
If FDA drive positive activation is required irrespective of rear wheel skidding, set switch
3 into the position "FDA positive activation". In this case the FDA drive is permanently en-
gaged and annunciator 2 is on. To disengage the positive activation mode, set switch 3 into
the position "FDA off", and annunciator 2 goes out.
ATTENTION: ONLY POSITIVE ACTIVATION OF FDA SHALL BE USED WHEN OPERAT-
ING ON REVERSE!
ATTENTION: ONLY POSITIVE ACTIVATION OF FDA SHALL BE USED WHEN OPERAT-
ING THE TRACTOR UNDER BAD TIRE GRIPPING CONDITONS WHILE REAR WHEELS SKID-
DING, INCLUDING TRACTOR TURNING, TO ENSURE SMOOTH FDA ACTIVATION,
WHICH DO THE FOLLOWING:
- STOP THE TRACTOR DEPRESSING THE CLUTCH PEDAL;
- ENGAGE THE FDA IN THE MODE "FDA POSITIVE ACTIVATION";
- RELEASE THE CLUTCH PEDAL SMOOTHLY.
ATTENTION: AUTOMATIC ACTIVATION OF FDA DRIVE IRRESPECTIVE OF THE SET
MODE (INCLUDING THE MODE "FDA OFF"), TAKES PLACE WHEN PRESSING THE INTER-
CONNECTED BRAKE PEDALS!
