MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE
NOTICE
• When filling the filter cartridge with fuel, do not re-
move cap (B). Always fill with fuel from small
holes (A) (8 places) on the dirty side.
• After filling with fuel, remove cap (B) and install
the fuel filter.
• Always fill with clean fuel. Be careful not to let any
dirt or dust get into the fuel. In particular, center
portion is the clean side, so do not remove cap (B)
when filling with fuel. Be careful not to let dirt or
dust get into the center portion on the clean side.
10. After the packing surface reaches the sealing surface of the filter head, tighten the filter cartridge 3/4 turns
when installing it.
REMARK
• If the filter cartridge is fastened too much, the packing will be damaged and this leads to leakage of
fuel. If the filter cartridge is too loose, fuel will also leak from the packing. Therefore, be sure to observe
the tightening angle.
• When tightening with a filter wrench, be extremely careful not to dent or damage the filter.
11. Install hose (3).
12. Turn fuel supply valve (1) at the bottom of the fuel tank to
OPEN position (O).
13. After replacing the filter cartridge, start the engine and run
it at low idle for approximately 10 minutes.
14. Check the filter seal surface for fuel leakage.
If there is any leakage of fuel, check the tightening condi-
tion of the filter cartridge.
If fuel still leaks, repeat steps 1 to 6 to remove the filter cartridge, and if any damage or pinched foreign material
on the packing surface is found, replace it with a new cartridge and repeat steps 7 to 12 to install it.

METHOD FOR REPLACING ELEMENT ON POWER TRAIN OIL FILTER

• Immediately after the engine is stopped, its parts and oil are still very hot and may cause burn in-
jury. Wait for the temperature to go down, and then start the work.
• Before opening the filter case, depress the brake pedal several times to release the pressure, then
lock the brake pedal. If pressure remains in the filter, the oil may spout out.

Remove bolts (1) (4 pieces) and remove cover (2) in front
of the battery inspection cover.
