MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE
1.
Remove nut (2) of breather assembly (1) on the top of the
fuel tank.
Use a tool when the nuts are so tight to remove.
2.
Remove cover (3).
3.
Remove dirt sticking to breather element (4).
4.
Clean in clean diesel fuel or flushing oil.
5.
Install cover (3) and nut (2).
In order not to damage the threaded portion of nut, tighten
nut (2) by hand until it is seated. Then tighten it 15 to 30 °
by using a tool.
METHOD FOR CHECKING AND ADJUSTING ALTERNATOR AND AIR CONDI-
TIONER COMPRESSOR BELT TENSION
For replacement of the alternator and air conditioner compressor drive belt, ask your Komatsu distributor.
METHOD FOR CHECKING UNDERCARRIAGE OIL
•
Immediately after the machine is stopped, you may be scalded by hot oil spurting out or by touch-
ing high-temperature parts. Wait for the temperature to go down, and then start the work.
•
If the oil level is low, new oil must be added, and the machine body must be inclined in this case.
Since this work is dangerous, ask your Komatsu distributor to perform this work.
Place the machine on a level ground and check for any reduc-
tion in the oil of the idler (part P), track roller (part Q), and carri-
er roller (part R).
