MAINTENANCE
METHOD FOR CHANGING OIL IN DAMPER CASE AND CLEANING DAMPER
BREATHER
Immediately after the engine is stopped, its parts and oil are still very hot and may cause burn in-
jury. Wait for the temperature to go down, and then start the work.
The undercover is a heavy part (23.5 kg). Do not open or close the cover just under it. When remov-
ing bolts (2) and (3), perform the work from the rear of the cover so that you can easily get out of the
way.
Refill capacity: 1.6 ℓ
Prepare a container to catch drained oil.

Open the engine side cover on the left side of the ma-
chine.
Dipstick (G) is seen.
2.
Remove inspection cover (1) of the undercover at the rear
of the machine bottom according to the following proce-
dure.
(A): Right side of the machine
(B): Dangerous place

Remove bolts (2) (2 pieces) on the right side of the
machine.

While supporting the cover, gradually remove bolts (3)
(2 pieces) on the left side of the machine.
Rain water may flow out. Take care.

Lower the cover gradually and open it.
The right end of the cover is hinged.
Drain plug (P) is seen at the upper position.

Pull out dipstick (G).
4.
Remove drain plug (P) and drain the oil.
5.
After draining the oil, tighten drain plug (P).
6.
Add oil through the insertion hole of dipstick (G).
7.
After adding oil, insert dipstick (G).
8.
Wipe off dirt and dusts around breather (4).
9.
Remove breather (4).
10. Remove all dirt from breather (4), then wash it in clean die-
sel fuel or flushing oil.
If it cannot be cleaned well, replace it with a new one.
11. Install breather (4).
12. Install inspection cover (1).
13. Close the engine side cover.
