MAINTENANCE
1.
Drive the machine by 1 to 2 m on a flat place.
2.
Measure clearance (A) between the track frame and the
guide plate (4 places on the right and left, and inside and
outside).
•
When clearance (A) is less than 4 mm.
The clearance of the idler does not need to be adjus-
ted.
•
When clearance (A) is 4 mm or more
Loosen bolt (1) and remove shim to adjust the clear-
ance on one side to 0.5 to 1 mm or less.
There are 2 types of shim thickness: 0.5 mm and 1 mm.
METHOD FOR ADJUSTING IDLER CLEARANCE VERTICALLY
1.
Measure clearance (B) to know the adjustment amount, subtract 2 mm from the value, and record it.
(Example) When clearance (B) is 5 mm, the adjustment amount becomes (5 - 2 =) 3 mm.
2.
Loosen bolts (2) (4 pieces at inside and outside) until you
do not feel the spring force.
3.
Loosen bolts (1) (8 pieces at inside and outside).
At this time, do not loosen them more than 3 turns.
4.
Raise guide plates (3) up by using a bar, etc. to make
clearance (C) become zero, then remove the shims of the
adjustment amount which has been measured in step 1.
5.
Put the removed shim (4) onto shim (5). (8 places at the
right and left, inside and outside)
At this time, check that the total pieces of shim (4) and
shim (5) are the same as those before adjustment.
If shims are removed or added, the inside spring will not
function sufficiently.
There are 2 types of shim thickness: 0.5 mm {0.02 in} and
1 mm.
METHOD FOR LUBRICATING UNIVERSAL JOINT
The undercover is a heavy part (23.5 kg). Do not open or close the cover just under it.
When removing bolts (2), perform the work from the rear of the cover so that you can easily get out of
the way.
